British destroyer HMS Daring arrived in Gibraltar on Monday on a stopover in its journey to Suez where she will spend the next seven months on maritime protection duties. Some reports talk about a patrol of the Hormuz Strait as tension with Iran remains high. HMS Daring is the first of six type 45 destroyers in the Royal Navy. Each one has cost 1.2 billion € and HMS Daring has some 200 crew. New Gibraltar First Minister, Fabian Picardo, offered a reception ceremony for the crew.
